Our Ranch/Adoption Center
Pickens Animal Rescue opened the Rescue Ranch back in 2003. For the past thirteen years it has housed hundreds of dogs and cats until they are adopted. The Adoption Center at the Rescue Ranch is where the pets are shown throughout the week and on Saturdays. If you’d like to schedule an appointment please email adopt@pickensanimalrescue.org or leave a message for one of our Staff to return your call 706-253-5383. This not an intake facility – leave a message if you need assistance in placing an animal.
The Rescue Ranch is located on 6 acres and consists of several building structures. The large dog “barn” is a kennel with indoor/outdoor runs and has access the exercise yard. Cats are housed in a separate building offering both commune style cat housing and individual rooms for the shyer types. The three isolation dog kennels are for the new intakes during their first few weeks in our care for health and behavior evaluations. The Adoption Center is a cottage where potential adopters can spend time visiting the pets. The staff at the Rescue Ranch utilizes the adoption center as their central command center where medical care is given, administration duties are performed and grooming of the pets is available.
PAR is very proud of the Rescue Ranch, not only in the beautiful setting within the wooded area of north Pickens County, but also in care provided to all the animals in our care. Our address is 401 Old Whitestone Rd. West, Talking Rock, GA 30175.
Volunteers are asked to schedule their visits in advance whenever possible.
