Rescue Ranch

Pickens Animal Rescue was able to open the rescue ranch back in 2003.  For three years it was used to house the overflow of stray animals that we did not have foster homes for.  Now we are happy to announce that it is our adoption center.  Pets are shown by appt only - to make an appt please call 404-202-2026.  This is also not an intake facility - you must contact the rescue line at 706-692-2772 if you need assistance in placing an animal.  No drop offs are allowed at the ranch and we do have security cameras set up so that if animals are dropped off we are able to contact the authorities with pictures (abandoning an animal is considered an act of Animal Cruelty and can be prosecuted). This is a huge undertaking for Pickens Animal Rescue and although we were able to have the funds to make the down payment we still hold a mortgage on it and your donations will help us to keep up the care and the payments on it.

Cat Area

The cats have both indoor and outdoor areas.  They are located in the barn next to the house where we also have laundry facilities and storage.

Dog Area

We had the Dog Kennel Area built when we moved in.  We have both Indoor kennels with outside runs as well as outdoor pens.  This is a great option for short term but is very much like a shelter and is not good for the long term.  We prefer to have our pets in foster homes than to be out at the ranch.  We also have limited space so the outdoor kennels can't be used in the really cold weather.
